add a CMS: be your own webmaster

Get ready

Get ready for a huge improvement to your site. Setting this up requires almost no work on your part. However, I will need a few things before I can get your CMS up and running.

What you need

A web server running PHP 4.2.0+ and MySQL 4+

This is an industry standard, so most non-free hosting plans will come with PHP and MySQL. Your hosting company should tell you whether or not your plan comes with support for these.

What I'll need

FTP access to your website

I need this in order to upload and manipulate files. If you would like, you can set up a temporary FTP user, and delete it when the updates are complete. FTP access will come in the form of a server name, username, password, and optionally a file path, or port number. This could look like:

server name: ftp.addacms.com (or 208.100.4.160)
username: fakeusername
password: fakepassword

MySQL access

In order to set up your CMS, I will need access to your MySQL database. If you would like, you can set up a database of any name. Otherwise, I'd be happy to set up a database myself, but this may require access to your control panel. I will need a host name, username and password, and optionally, a database name. This could look like:

host name: localhost
username: fakeusername
password: fakepassword
database (optional): cms

I may need other information depending on specific circumstances, in which case I will ask. If you can't figure out any of this information, your hosting company should be able to tell you. Remember, this is risk free: if at any point I find that I am unable to install the CMS on your website, you will receive a full refund!
